BIOGRAPHY
Prevailing in the fitness scene, Amy Campbell has four years experience as a National Fitness/Bikini competitor. As the reigning Ms. Fitness Universe Classic 2009, her fitness accomplishments thus far mark just the beginning of her journey.
Amy’s passion for fitness was ignited during her years as a professional NFL Cheerleader. Cheering for the Atlanta Falcons during their Super Bowl season and then a year later with the Cincinnati Bengals for three consecutive seasons, Amy learned the fundamentals of exercise, time management and self-discipline. These skills would prove to serve her well as her path to fitness unfolded.
After retiring from professional cheerleading in 2003, Amy directed two professional cheerleading squads for the Arena and Indoor Football leagues. Her desire to perform and to stay in shape led her to become a fitness competitor.
In 2006, Amy started competing in local and regional fitness shows and finished well with notable placements. She had been bitten by the fitness “bug”. Envisioning a feminine, strong and sexy physique, Amy wanted to take her enthusiasm for competing to the next level.
In 2008, Amy ramped up her training and in the following year earned National placements including 2nd place in Bikini Classic at Fitness Atlantic 2009, Top Ten Bikini Classic at Fitness Universe and the title of Ms. Fitness Universe Classic 2009!
Amy’s future goals are to promote and integrate practical applications of exercise science to maintain and enhance the physical performance, fitness, health, and quality of life for others, particularly active women 30+ years of age and women aspiring to be professional cheerleaders/dancers. She hopes to share her message through personal training, fitness modeling and as a contributing writer of fitness articles.
Amy is an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer and a graduate of Georgia State University. When Amy is away from the gym, she enjoys snowboarding, traveling, live music performances and serving as a volunteer with her church. Amy resides in Cincinnati, Ohio.
